The 1850-stone one-room church is nestled in the midst of apple orchards which are the heartbeat of Upper Adams. Located on Cline's Church Road, a back country road, you will find Cline's Church to be one with a unique atmosphere where a real spirit of joy fills the building as we worship God each Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Cline's Church was the first church of United Brethren origin in Adams County. It takes its name from the founder, Joseph Cline, who owned the adjoining farm. Joseph Cline and his family are buried in the churchyard, along with many early families of the fruit farming community.
The "Civil War Building" plaque was placed on the single room, one story limestone church by a committee from the Gettysburg Civil War Round Table in October of 1970.
Cline's is now on the National Registry of Historic Places and has retained unbroken data since 1848, when the first Union Sunday School constitution was penned. "No other rural church has retained all of its records in such a manner", stated Dr. Lowyer, Archivist for the Central PA Conference. Visit Cline's – revisit the past.
Cline's Cemetery, adjacent to the church, has 11 marked graves of Civil War veterans, some killed during the war. An information sheet on the veterans is available at the church preceding and following worship.

Cline's United Methodist Church is to be an environment of Christian love, care and concern and will minister to people in need through visitation and as a living example of the Risen Savior. We are committed to learning how to serve God and His Risen son by providing preaching and teaching based upon God's Word and by providing training for teaching missionaries (lay visitors) leadership roles. We recognize that to become and to stay an outreach congregation into the community that we need to become aware of developing our skills and our desire to love other. (Adopted October 6, 1993)
Cline's is prayerfully at work creating an atmosphere of Christian Homecoming, true to the values which have sustained former generations. We wish to outreach the historic Adams Co. Community. We draw inspiration from our heritage, using it as a springboard for community worship patterns. (Adopted May 13, 2001)
